So I’ve noticed a phenomineninon. Namely that blogs and self promotion tend to slow to a crawl when people are busy. So you can always tell when people are short of work by the increase in Twitter and Facebook posts. I always used to wonder at that as at the end of the day you need to be preparing several jobs in advance to guarantee you can pay your mortgage and occasionally eat so this isn’t something you should be leaving till you’ve no work on.

But the reality is that when you’re busy it just slips and I’ve been very busy. In the space of a month I went from working part time, building up a client base, learning the freelance ropes and feeling confident, to having the rug pulled from under my feet and nearly losing the house and everything that goes with it, to going full time and having more offers than I could hope for and plans for the future that could be life changing.

Swings and roundabouts. But the biggest plus has been that I’m now (well, almost) in a position to pick the projects I’m really interested in and particularly the clients I want to work with. So far I’ve been universally lucky. But then maybe you make your own luck.

Anyway this morning I’m having a break to sort out some paper work so thought I’d just throw a post up here.

Its now public knowledge so I’m happy to be able to say that many months back (although it seems much longer) I completed the artwork for Academy Games – Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear reprint and am currently creating all of the environment graphics for the PC game.

After that there’s another game for Academy in the works and a few smaller personal projects that have been on the back burner for some time but which I’m keen to get in motion before other things kick off.
